Hello!

Hello! My name is Emma and I am a geospatial professional with experience acquiring, cleaning, and managing data, as well as preparing high-quality cartographic products for use in reports. I have a background in Biology with a certificate GIS and Geospatial Technology.

In my current role, I am responsible for managing all internal GIS data and creating figures for a variety of deliverables for both cultural and natural resources projects. Typical reports include wetland and waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) delineations, threatened and endangered (T&E) species assessments, cultural resources desktop reports, and archeological surveys. I coordinate with our biologists and archeologists to determine the needs of each specific project and provide field maps for their use in field mobilizations. I then prepare a set of maps for each report using open source data from organizations such as USGS, USFWS, EPA, and FEMA, as well as figures using data collected in the field. In addition to these figures, I also provide data in the form of acreage calculations to be incorporated into reports and KMZs of clipped datasets for other users to view in GoogleEarth. I am able to adapt to feedback and quickly make edits to figures after QAQC and client comments are received.

In a previous role, I worked on conditioning large datasets within an SDE database to meet project specific requirements. This required a keen eye and meticulous attention to detail. I have developed strong troubleshooting skills for GIS issues and regularly provide general computer and tech support to my colleagues when issues arise.

I am excited for my future in GIS and look forward to broadening my skills in our ever-evolving industry!

My GIS Portfolio contains a collection of the GIS projects I produced during my certificate program, including examples of spatial analysis, cartography, and web maps. I am comfortable working with both ArcGIS and QGIS desktop software, as well as with many of the web mapping tools available on ArcGIS Online. Any project can be clicked on to view an enlarged map with more information and links are included for any interactive web maps.
